In the 1950s Jim Beam came up with the idea of unique decanters as a way to sell excess 8-10 year old liquor, the market becoming much more competitive with Vodka companies making a claim on the American South. These decanters were meant to be displayed and collected, and the Jim Beam Bottle & Specialty Club Collectors had over 7500 paying members in their heyday, and it is estimated to have thousands more casual collectors. Made Through a collaboration with Regal China out of Illinois Jim Beam created thousands of decanters between 1955 and 1992, all of which are highly collectible today. The rearing horse came in a variety of colors – from black and brown to appaloosa and grey, and this one is in excellent condition with intact cork and no chips or cracks. Marked Jim Beam 1962, measures 13 ¾ tall x 9 inches long x 4 ¾ wide.
