The ancient burgh of Roxburgh is found in the Scottish borders and is home to the beautiful market town of Kelso. The Roxburgh Tartan was designed around 1840 and this district is well-known for the weaving and manufacturing of fine plaid fabrics. This handsome tie was made in the Roxburgh district of Scotland and woven in a Green Douglas tartan, the pattern belonging to the Clan of Douglas, specifically William Douglas, between 1175 and 1211. 100% wool in a dark green base with navy and cobalt pattern and white threads, excellent condition, labeled Roxburgh, made in Scotland, c1980s.
