Napco, also known as National Potteries Corporation, was founded in 1938 and their products reached a hey-dey in popularity in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and they are still today one of the most famous names for porcelain ceramics, antique pottery, vintage products and other collectibles. Head vases were very popular and sold by florists to accompany the perfect arrangement, and were very chic mid-century. This lovely horse head pair is beautifully expressive and artistically rendered in snowy white with white mane and charcoal muzzle, and lovely brown with black mane and charcoal muzzle – artistic painted eyes. Very good condition with little wear on inside of vase. Napco/Japan –missing label but fits others in my collection, 1960s. Measures 7 ¼ inches long x 3 ½ inches wide x 6 inches tall.
