This amazing saddle has stories to tell, and has held up extremely well! Saddles like this were not only used for thoroughbred racing, but used by steeplechase riders and fox hunters alike. 100% leather in an aged chestnut color with wool/horsehair flocked panels, flat seat with forward flap, double billets, rounded cantle, narrow seat, useable condition and extremely light weight; there is some separation on the right side flap near the seat and the jockey panel on the right has some threads that are coming unstitched, there is an old slice on the actual seat and the back of the cantle is a bit roughed up. Comes with leathers (which are newer) and irons (which are original). Seat measures 18 inches, flap measures 10 ½ inches wide x 8 ½ inches long from the stirrup bar, no marks or stamps, c1940s
