Napco, also known as National Potteries Corporation, was founded in 1938 and their products reached a hey-dey in popularity in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and they are still today one of the most famous names for porcelain ceramics, antique pottery, vintage products and other collectibles. Head vases were very popular and sold by florists to accompany the perfect arrangement, and were very chic in the 1950s. This lovely horse head is beautifully expressive and artistically rendered in a creamy palomino gold color with white mane and star on forehead, darker brown on muzzle. Very good condition with little wear on inside of vase. Napco/Japan –missing label but fits others in my collection, 1950s. Measures 6 ½ inches long x 2 ¼ inches wide x 6 inches tall.
