Started in Auburn, Indiana in 1913, The Auburn Rubber Company was originally called the Double Fabric Tire Company, the name was changed in the 1920s. In 1935 they began making hard rubber toys, including a variety of cars, trucks and animals. This fabulous pair of draft horses was molded in a rich chocolate color with light beige manes and tails, mounted on twin axels with small hard rubber tires – a unique piece for your vintage toy collection. C1940s (around 1945), the original Aub-Rubr stamp is very hard to see but it is there, good condition with the following note: The left horse has a crack on the rear left leg and the base has a couple of cracks, and there is a surface crack on his back (see pictures). Measures 4 inches long x 3 ½ inches tall x 3 inches wide.
