Lovely round lidded jar illustrated with handsome fox hunters and their hounds in an English countryside, trimmed with cobalt blue and gilded florals, removable lid. The marking WBI stands for the World Banking Institute, which was formed in the 1940s. It was to create jobs and stimulate the economy of underdeveloped nations, similar to what the WPA did for Americans in the 1940s but on a more global scale. The WBI initials started showing up on imported Chinese porcelain in the late 1940s. This mid-century vase is in excellent condition with one note: the top has a chip and superficial crack on the inside (see pics). Showing the autumn colors of Green, brown and sky blue, C1960s, Measures 8 ½ inches tall x 22 inches circumference, top opening measures 2 ½ inches and base measures 3 ½ inches.
