A lovely historical book written about the trials and tribulations of the riders of the Pony Express, from the very first rider, Johnny Frey, to the riders in the different areas of the country who rode to assure the US Mail was delivered through rain, shine, Indian attacks and animal encounters. Thoughtfully written and beautifully illustrated by Robert Riger, published by Houghton Mifflin Company out of Boston, MA, hardcover with 183 pages. This book is in great structural condition, but there are some penciled notes on the inside cover up through about page 41 (mostly check marks).
