In 1893 William Britain Sr cracked the hollowcast Toy solider process and the rest, as they say, is history. As time marched on the plastic toy took over the hollowcast toys, and lovely metal toys like this handsome pair of foals were not produced past 1966. Made in England, adorable chestnut foals with white stars and one white stocking, hand-painted detail, most-likely part of a larger collection but perfect on their own. No stamps but was acquired with other W Britain figurines. Excellent vintage condition. Sold as a pair only, c1950s. Each 2 x 2 x ½ inches.
