In 1893 William Britain Sr cracked the hollowcast Toy solider process and the rest, as they say, is history. As time marched on the plastic toy took over the hollowcast toys, and lovely metal toys were not produced past 1966. Using the same fine detail and molds, these plastic pieces are mini works of art. Black riderless horse in a leaping gallop with a metal green base; fancy hunter rider all decked out in her show clothes complete with riding bat. A lovely pair for your miniature collection! Both are marked Britains Ltd, made in England, very good vintage condition, c1970s. The black horse measures 3 inches long x 2 ½ inches tall x ¾ inches wide; the bay horse/rider measures 3 ¼ inches long x 3 inches tall x ¾ inches wide. Sold as a pair only.
