Established in 1880, the W.H Grindley & Co earned a reputation for fine porcelain, earthenware and ironstone pottery that was exported from England to the USA, South American and Australia. They were also known for their use of transferware technology, honing the images to perfection and reducing the need for expensive artisans; and well known for their Hotel Ware, found in higher-end hotels throughout the world. This lovely set of dessert plates shows 3 handsome field hunters in the scarlet coats and forging hunt hounds jumping fences in pursuit of the sly fox, image is set on fine white porcelain with 2 small grooves on the border. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks, back is stamped in green with Grindley, England, c1930s. Sold in a pair only, each plate measures 6 ¾ inches
