Belgian Academic painter Herman Jean Joseph Richir (1866-1942) was often compared to Renoir with his impressionist style and demure portraits of high society ladies. This beautiful print is a detail of a portrait of a young horsewoman, I have attached the original picture just so you can see what the original painting looked like. The detail image was just as popular – if not more so- than the full image simply because the bold look of the young rider and her handsome collie companion; the horse and handler is almost an afterthought. Presented under glass with a stunning gilded and black wood frame, double mats in black and beige with bronze beaded trim, professionally done with the highest quality. Excellent condition, c 1980s. Print measures approximately 22 x 27 inches, framed size is 33 x 39 inches, single wrapped wire hanger on back.
