Dimensional silhouette art was all the rage from the mid-1800s to the first part of the twentieth century. Lovely backdrops were used and then curved glass with black-painted silhouettes were set atop and framed, and images like these decked many Victorian homes (just look closely at the Christmas Carol movies!). Lovely pair of male and female hunters in relief among a lovely fall backdrop with pastel tones, simple silver frame and tab hanger on back. Excellent condition, no marks or stamps, sold as a pair only. Each measure 5 x 7 inches.
