This century-old brand has been making fine bone china dinnerware since 1877, and although they sold out to Copeland Spode in 1966 the label Hammersly was used through 1988. This teacup and saucer set is a lovely example of their quality and craftsmanship, fine white bone chine with small, fluted details and gilded rim and handle trim; vivid Herring-like images on saucer front and all around the cup, handsome equestrian décor. Excellent condition, stamped Hammersly England designed exclusively for the Danbury Mint, England (Danbury was founded in 1969), c1970s. Saucer measures 5 inches, cup measures 3 x 2 ¾ inches.
