Famously known as Worcester Porcelain, this time-honored brand was founded in 1862 in Worcester, England. With much success through the 19th and 20th century, they merged with Spode in 1976 and by the late 1990s production in Worcester, England, had ceased. This fabulous lidded jar was probably meant for small candies, trinkets and jewelry or spices. Lovely white porcelain with removable lid illustrated with a fox face and gilded rim, round jar with a handsome mounted hunter on one side and a hunting hound image on the other. Excellent condition, stamped Royal Worcester on bottom, c1950s. Measures 4 inches tall x 3 inches wide x 9 ½ inches around.
