This hand-carved horse head bust was once part of a much larger wooden carousel horse from the early 1900s. Although his head and neck are all that survived the past 100 years, this piece is exceptional and rich in detail of American heritage. With mouth agape to show the details of his teeth; wildly- whipping mane and forelock; painted blue bridle and his expressive glass eyes – this is truly a showpiece for your equestrian home. Solid wood horse head is lightweight and somewhat fragile with age; Fleur wooden block mount is modern. Very good condition with the perfect amount of antique patina and condition, both ears have been clipped and there is a small clip on the edge of the right side of the mane to note. No marks or stamps, early 1900s. Measures 18 tall x 11 ½ long x 6 ½ wide inches.
