Charlie horse was introduced by infamous puppeteer Shari Lewis in 1960 on the commencement of the debut of the Shari Lewis Show in October by NBC Studios. With her ventriloquist talent and her well-known sidekick Lambchop at her side, Wing Ding (a black crow), Hush Puppy and Charlie Horse entertained children (and adults) with Shari’s amazing talent. Charlie horse was depicted as a little slow -witted and goofy, which appears about right for this funky little puppet. Molded plastic/rubber face with long ears, straw hat, freckled nose and goofy eyes; red cotton sleeve. Excellent condition, c1960s. Measures 10 inches tall x 6 inches deep x 3 ¾ inches wide.
