Vintage Wood Block with Sheer Fabric Overlay Victorian Field Hunters – 1930s

This demure image of a group of field hunters and their spotted hounds was originally painted in the early 1800s; Red-coated hunters trying to get the elusive fox to come out of cover while other huntstmen and their hounds make plans in the background. Awash in lovely pastel colors and covered with transparent nylon fabric that really adds nice texture to this image. Hand-trimmed in gold brocade and brown velvet on the back, solid wood with the print laid on top and nicely sealed, simple triangle hanger on back. Very good vintage condition with one note: There is a small tear on the top left of the image. c1930s, measures 10 x 7 ½ inches.
