Hand-colored polychrome lithograph by the humorous artist Cecil Aldin (British, 1870-1935) is part of the Fallowfield Hunt series and shows the commencement of the hunt as the fox breaks cover and the chase is on! Signed with patent date of 1900, presented in a gold washed wood frame under glass, reverse side has a sawtooth hanger and is ready to hang. Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin is known as a painter and watercolorist of animal and sporting scenes, adding humorous touches to his characters.
Excellent condition, measures 12 x 14, c1960s.
