Lovely dinner-sized plate for your collection, with beautiful transfer-printed designed brown floral frame and grey & bay hunters and hounds with scarlet coats imagery. Ironstone was developed in the early 1800s and was a vitreous pottery that was similar to porcelain but more robust like stoneware. Glossy white with elegant lines, it was used by potters such as Wood & Sons throughout the late 1800s – 1940s. Stamped Alpine White Ironstone/Wood & Sons England on back, excellent condition, c1930s. Measures 10 inches diameter.
