Nicholas Muller and his sons made cast metal clock cases and spelter statues from 1850 – 1900 from their foundry in New York. Using a zinc-lead based metal with an imitation bronze finish, each piece was hand and hollow cast to create stunning sculptures. This handsome horses is on a rectangle base and shows excellent definition. Stamped N Muller & Sons NY/547B on bottom, very good condition with one note: some of the bronze finish has worn particularly around the ears and poll, one spot on the right side, c1880s. Measures 9 inches long x 3 ½ inches wide x 8 ½ inches tall.
