Known as the "China King", George Zoltan Lefton opened his Porcelain business in Chicago in 1941. The Hungarian-born Lefton had a long love of porcelain and with vested ties in Japan he was able to keep his quality specifications high throughout his career. Until the mid -1970s Japan was the main source for the Lefton pieces; with manufacturing changes, however, the next decades saw pieces from Taiwan, Malaysia and China. This fabulous hand-painted bisque porcelain fox is true to the Lefton name with artful expression and attention to every detail. Complete with Gold-trimmed red label and stamped 6970 on the front bottom paw, a truly unique find for the collector and fox lover. Excellent condition with no chips or marks, Circa 1970s, made in Japan, measures 6 inches long x 4 inches tall x 1.75 inches wide.
