Once adorning fine harness horse’s bridles, these fabulous glass rosettes are highly collectible today and very hard to find in matched pairs. Brilliant blue creates a vibrant backdrop to a brown bridled horse under domed glass with metal back and trim, metal square leather keepers (attached to bridle straps). Very good condition with one one: One of the rosettes has a bent keeper. These rosettes are featured in the book Bridle Rosettes, Two Centuries of Adornment by E. Helene Sage. A great collector’s find, sold in pair only. C1880s, each measures 1 ¾ inches round x 1 ½ inch thick.
