The Colt-Cromwell Co. was founded in 1936 in Boston, although the founder – Antonio Matos- hailed from England. The Colt-Cromwell company was very popular in the late 1930s and 1940s, offering custom-made riding boots, jodhpur boots, travel bags, riding helmets and breeches. However, after the 1950s little can be found about this once very visible company and it is thought that they merged with another larger brand such as Millers Harness Company who was quite popular at the time also. Regardless, these polished dress riding boots are a fabulous testament to their iconic craftsmanship and quality. Smooth black leather with a polished finish, pull-on style with boot pull straps interior top, rounded toe, some wear on sole but plenty of years left, excellent condition overall. Approx size 6, made In Boston, MA, 1960s. Boots measure 9 inches inside toe to heel, 10 inches outside toe to heel, 3 ¼ inches wide at bottom sole, 18 inches tall top to bottom, 12 inches around ankle, 14 ½ inches around top calf.
