A beautiful white-washed fired-clay sculpture depicting a leaping carousel-style Arabian horse complete with fancy red saddle and blue saddle pad, detailed flowers in the mane of its arched neck and a spirited flagged tail held high. There is a stamp on the underside of the horse that looks like LAIIPS with a copyright stamp, but a mystery to who that is. The estate sale this came from showed that the owner had traveled to the middle east quite a bit and is thought to have purchased this sculpture in Egypt and turned it into a lamp sometime after that, but it is hard to know for sure. What we do know is that it is a beautiful lamp and the intricate stained glass shade and bronze horse finial that sits atop adds the perfect wow factor, a lovely piece for the equestrian home. White-washed wood base and metal lamp post, horse is made of white-washed ceramic clay, shade is made of art glass and finial is made of bronze. c1980s. Base measures 12 x 6 ½ x 1 ½, total height (minus the bulb) is 20 ½ inches, horse measures 15 inches long x 13 inches high x 3 inches wide.
