In 1944 Lancaster & Sons, Ltd was renamed Lancaster & Sandland, Ltd when, presumably, Sandland became a partner in the company. Lancaster & Barker was the founding company in 1887 in Stoke-On-Trent and continued until 1899; From 1899 thru 1944 the company was known as Lancaster & Sons, Ltd and they became well-known for their ceramic and porcelain tableware and collectibles. Sadly the company was dissolved in 1968. This lovely creamer and sugar bowl set shows a colorful village stopover for a fox hunter and his hounds, gilded edge, ivory color with transferware image. There is quite a bit of crazing on the glaze due to age, really nice condition with no cracks or chips. Sold as a set only. C1940s, sugar bowl measures 3 ½ L x 2 ¼ tall and creamer measures 5 inches long x 3 inches tall.
