A. Flanagan Company out of Chicago was a publishing and supplies company that was started in 1880 and published 160 works through their closing in 2010. Many of the books were American-history based with patriotic themes and tributes to historic figures, so this book is indeed a rare piece for your collection. It is not known how many were printed but very few have survived the 100 year span since this book was printed. Hardcover with linen fabric covering, hand-sewn binding. This book is in good condition with the following notes: There are a couple of pages with chunks missing at the bottom (does not affect the text on the page); there are penciled notes on one of the first pages; the spine is intact but the outside fabric is ripped; there are some stains on the first few pages (see picture). All pages are intact with no separation damage, a wonderful work for your collection or for that hard-to-buy for horse lover on your list. Published in USA, 1920s, 230 pages.
