A lovely reproduction of the original 1839 etching by artist Richard Barrett Davis (1782-1854) showing hunter John Shirley at the Burton Hunt in England. The writing below the print reads: “This hunt of John Shirley Huntsman to the Burton Hunt and his two whips is dedicated to sir Richard Sutton Bar by his obedient servant”. Print was drawn on stone by J.W. Giles, a reproduction from the 1970s from Windsor Art in Los Angeles. Print is in very good condition with clarity of color and detail, frame shows some wear and the matt is getting a little faded with time. Measures 19 ½ x 15 ½ inches.
