This collectible liquor decanter once held the finest Jim Beam Whiskey, and although emptied long ago the history of these decanters long out-lives any spirits they may have contained. Originally introduced in the 1950s as a way to sell more whiskey, Jim Beam soon found that their decanters took on a life of their own with clubs popping up all over the country to celebrate not only collecting but the company itself. This decanter celebrates Churchill Downs, the home to the 95th running of the Kentucky Derby in 1969, the original Run for the Roses! The very first winner of the Kentucky Derby was Aristides who won it in May of 1875. Made from genuine Regal China and designed by C. Miller, excellent vintage condition although the original stopper has been replaced with a crystal one. C 1969, measures 7 inches wide x 11 inches high x 2 inches deep.
