SylvaC Pottery is best known for their animal figurines, particularly dogs and rabbits, and was most successful during the Art-Deco period, although many of their items had a Victorian influence. Founded in 1894 by William Copestake and William Shaw this pottery continued to produce fine table ware, animal figurines and ornaments until they closed in 1982. This pottery stamp is from the 1950s and shows the large SylcaC imprint along with the item # of 2376, one of the very popular styles of that time with molded fox head relief detail and silver-gilded trim. A very handsome Fox Hunters mug in very good condition with no cracks or chips, helmet/whip/horn emblem back, wide-based with tapered mouth. C 1950s, made in England. Base measures 4 ¼ inches wide and top measures 3 inches wide; 12 inch circumference around base, 4 ½ inches tall.
