John Alfred Wheeler (also known as John Arnold Alfred Wheeler) was a British artist that lived from 1821 thru 1903, witness to the fox hunting craze that spanned the early 1800s thru the early 1900s, thanks in plenty to the excellent artist and sports illustrators that glamorized the high-society sport. This fabulous open edition print is framed in an ornate gilded frame with double mats in navy and ivory, gilded inside edge, presented under glass, excellent condition. Print and frame are from Vanguard Studios, started by Lee Reynolds Burr in the 1960s who had the dream of making “fine art” available to the middle class. Excellent condition, C 1980s.
